Saints of Carmel

The country where we live is unique :

Here was born faith in the one and only God

Here, " the Word became flesh " in Jesus of Nazareth
Here, also, was born the Order of Carmel.

Thus it was, the first "hermit friars" of Mount Carmel began their way of life, closely associated with Elijah and Mary and at the crossroads of East and West.

So it is, in its turn, the relationship of our saints to this country cannot be but unique.

It is from this slant that we have decided to present it : by means of what it represents for us here in this present time, in this particular place called the Holy Land, with its riches and its limits.
